Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.
When there is a national or international crisis, do not become involved in the doom and gloom and allow it to affect you.
Raise your consciousness into the realms where all is peace and harmony, and in this way you can help the situation far more than allowing yourself to become involved in it and become part of it.
It is not an easy thing to do when all around you it is being discussed and bemoaned; in fact it is a universal thought, and you have to rise above it, to reach beyond it, so you are not dragged down by it.
This is where it is so necessary to let your mind be stayed on Me (divine Love), to concentrate on the things of the Spirit, on the things that really do matter in life. You wonder how your positive, uplifting thoughts can possibly help an international crisis.
Your helpful, healing thoughts are powerful! Therefore do your part, no matter how small or insignificant it may appear to you. Do your best to uplift your thoughts by knowing the Love is on the scene to help all involved in the crisis. Then, and only then, will you be doing your part to defuse the situation and bring healing to all involved.
Just for a moment, give Heart-Centered Listening a try.
Is there someone that is trying to get your attention? Is it a child, a spouse, a co-worker?
Stop your mental chatter, relax your stance and look into their eyes. Now, REALLY LISTEN to what they are saying. Drop your response. Quit rehearsing what you will say back to them. They are not wanting or needing your advice. Keep listening. Focus on their heart. Let them know you care what they have to say by your silence and deep listening. It is ego that wants to counsel, advise, and coerce. Remember: your job is to trust they have all the inner resources to access their own knowing.
After your child, spouse, or co-worker has completed her sharing, then thank them. You have just witnessed a miraculous moment. You didn’t have to say a thing! You have assisted one, in your silence, to access their own intuition and knowing. A gift has been given and received in the same exchange. Both parties are blessed. This is, in its truest sense, Heart-Centered Listening.
Who knew that knitting as a hobby could be so fulfilling? It sure surprised me! I am a beginner knitter who started knitting as a way to connect with other women, and I felt I needed a creative outlet. But the real gift for me is the “way” I knit. Or should I say, “how" I knit for whoever I am knitting for.
I find such joy in thinking about the recipient of the scarf I am knitting. The thought process is so joyful. Let’s see... “what color yarn should I buy for so and so?” ”What color would complement her complexion?” This simple process makes me happy. BUT again the “way” I do what I do is most fulfilling.
You ask, “what do I mean by this?” Well, I’ll tell you, I think about the person I am knitting for. I cherish the person I am knitting for. I see her face, I feel the essence of her beauty. I infuse love in the object I am working on and bless it as my fingers move through the yarn. It is such a happy time of “seeing” that person as a beloved child of God. It is my way of appreciating and honoring that person. I think, “how often have I allowed myself concentrated time to simply ponder another’s preciousness?”
I am learning to love the art of knitting especially the higher meaning of my new craft. To connect with another in thought, heart to heart. What a holy time!
I know life will still continue to present challenges. That may never change. However the way we handle them and relate to them does change. And suddenly what was once hard is no big deal. What was once devastating is simply something to be dealt with. What was once difficult to say, now escapes our lips with ease and grace. We get up, pick up, learn and move on more quickly. And in that reality, the gratitude for life itself causes more and more good to come into our lives.
To your enemy, forgiveness.
To an opponent, tolerance.
To a friend, your heart.
To a customer, service.
To all, charity.
To every child, a good example.
To yourself, respect.
